Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center announced Tuesday its Selma Outpatient Clinic has expanded its operating hours from 32 to 40 hours per week, meaning it will now be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Selma clinic, located at 206 Vaughan Memorial Drive, offers access to primary care and basic mental health services for veterans living in or near Selma and surrounding counties.

“There is a large population of veterans living in the Selma area and there is a need to expand the clinic hours to better serve them,” Damon Stevenson, public affairs officer for the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center said. “By expanding the hours we hope to provide even greater access to care for veterans who have so proudly served our nation.”
