Willie Edward Brooks, 36, was arrested Monday night for possession and trafficking of crack cocaine, cocaine and some marijuana.
After a Dallas County Sheriff’s Department narcotics investigator pulled Brooks over for a traffic violation on Forest Avenue, the Fourth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force found the illegal substances in the console of his vehicle, along with a handgun.
Brooks is currently at the Dallas County Jail under a $3.5 million bond for trafficking cocaine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana first degree.
Brooks, a Selma resident, lives in the 2000 block of Royal Street.
The street value of the cocaine and crack cocaine is estimated at about $7,500.
Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson said Brooks was out on bond from the Dallas County Circuit Court for two counts of assault first degree and he expects Brooks to face a court judge on Wednesday.
