Albert Gordon (AL) Ball, age 55 died April 14, 2013 at Atlanta VA Hospital, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Al was a life-long resident of Conecuh County. He was born June 29, 1957. He was a graduate of Lyeffion High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army.

Al was pre-deceased by his parents, James Albert Ball and Willene Chastine Ball.

He is survived by his sister, Jackie Thornley Hines (James), Selma, Alabama and his brother, Brent Thornley (Lisbeth), Jasper, Alabama.

He is also survived by his nephews, Chris Hines (Penelope), Monroeville, Alabama; Scott Thornley (Bess), Jasper, Alabama; Drew Thronley, Austin, Texas; and his nieces, Shelley Hines Hunt (Sam), Birmingham, Alabama; and Caroline Thornley Sparrow (Jim), Birmingham, Alabama.

Also surviving are his great nephews and nieces, Jim and Reid Hines, Olivia and Sam Hunt and Margaret Thornley.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Owassa, Alabama with Al’s brother-in-law, James Hines, officiating.
