Evans, Barrett plan May wedding

Ms. Gail Evans and Mr. & Mrs. Reginald C. Evans of Prattville, Alabama are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Michelle Evans, to Wesley Adam Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Barrett, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama formerly of Selma, Alabama.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Blanks of Bowdon, Georgia and Mrs. Gwendoline Evans and the late Mr. Clifford B. Evans of El Dorado, Arkansas.

Miss Evans is a graduate of Prattville High School. She attended the University of Alabama and is presently attending Troy University in Montgomery completing her studies to receive a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Miss Evans is employed by the State of Alabama.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Reba Walls and the late Mr. Fred Walls of Brundidge, Alabama, Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Ratliff of Maplesville, Alabama and the late Mr. William Earl Barrett, Sr. of Selma, Alabama.

Mr. Barrett attended Morgan Academy through the ninth grade and graduated from Macon East Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Alabama.

Mr. Barrett attended Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College on a baseball scholarship and transferred to Auburn University Montgomery where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Mr. Barrett is employed by Tractor Equipment Company in Birmingham, Alabama.

The wedding will take place May 7, 2011, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama where the groom’s parents are active members.
