In addition, for the younger ones the park will host an inaugural Ghost Stories for Kids event at 5 and 5:30 on both evenings.

These events will be presented by Old Cahawba Archaeological Park, the Alabama Historical Commission and community volunteers.

“Visitors will be able to hear authentic, historic stories while at the new cemetery at Old Cahawba, and they will get to participate in a paranormal investigation at Castle Morgan,” said Dr. William Henry, site director for Old Cahawba, adding that Castle Morgan is the former site of a Civil War era prison.

The Haunted History Tours will be held at the following times on Oct. 18 and 25: 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Each tour will last for 90 minutes, and advance tickets are required. They are mostly wagon tours but also require some walking.

The Webb Paranormal Group will utilize their equipment during the paranormal investigation. This tour is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Ghost Stories for Kids will begin at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on both Oct. 18 and 25. This event is a half-hour wagon tour just before sunset and is happening in tandem with a trunk-or-treat event from approximately 5-6:30 both evenings.

“We really hope that everybody comes out and sees us,” Henry said. “Some of our tours are selling out fast and filling up quick.”

The Haunted History Tour is $25 per person, while the Ghost Stories for Kids tour is $5 per person. During the events, Uncle Clyde’s Barbecue will be on site.
