Selma talent takes stage at College Culture Showcase and Battle of the Bands in Millbrook

MILLBROOK – When the 2025 College Culture Showcase and Battle of the Bands hits the stage in Millbrook this Sunday, Selma will be represented among the performers.
The gates will open at noon at 17 Springs, located at 120 Champions Drive. The event will run until 6 p.m.
The event will include several colleges to promote and recruit new students including Wallace State Community College, in which Director of Recruitment Joffrey Moore will represent.
“We aim to connect with prospective students and their families. The team will share information about Wallace Community College Selma’s academic programs, admissions process, scholarships, and student support services,” Moore said. “They will also highlight special opportunities such as dual enrollment, workforce training, and transfer pathways. Visitors will have the chance to engage with recruiters, ask questions, and pick up WCCS promotional materials—all while experiencing the excitement and energy of the Battle of the Bands event.”

The event will feature both a career and college fair, giving attendees the chance to explore academic opportunities and learn about different career paths. Recruiters from various fields will be on hand, including Selma native Helene Felton, who will provide resources and information for those interested in real estate.

Selma’s creative community will also shine through Fostering Excellence Productions and Performing Arts in Education, two groups highlighting opportunities for young artists and students.
There will also be a children’s village to provide entertainment for children and a break for parents.
Entertainment from across central Alabama will take the stage, including dancers from Lowndes County led by Ian Lame. Additionally, there will be a mechanical bull and a 360-degree photo booth. .
Organizers said the event is designed to “blend music, education and entertainment to connect communities and celebrate student achievement.”
