SELMA – If you’re looking for your barbecue fix next week, look no further than the annual Sturdivant Hall Museum Barbecue on the Green event taking place on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The event is an annual tradition to help raise funds for the 1850’s Greek Revival Mansion in downtown Selma.

“Join us for a delicious Southern dinner by Lannie’s BBQ, set against the historic Sturdivant Hall,” said the venue’s representatives. “Enjoy classic comfort food, sweat tea under the stars and a silent auction featuring artwork by local and regional artists.”

The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. at the museum, which is located at 713 Mabry Street in downtown.

Tickets to the event are $30 and include the meal and admission to the silent art auction. Tickets can be purchased at Sturdivant Hall, Carter Drug Co., Selma-Dallas County Public Library and the Chamber of Commerce.

Artists with items on display for the auction will include Jennifer Levins, Nan Cunningham, Barbara Davis, Caroline Sherrer, Charlie Lucas, Anne Strand, Porter Rivers, Sarah Wagoner, Bradford Bracken, Shirley Quarles Baird, Anne Smith Reeves, Jerry Siegel, Tres Taylor, Jean Pearson, Patsy Smith, Frances Rebula, Katy Jacob and others.

The auction preview will start at 6 p.m. and last until 7 p.m. with dinner following on the lawn from 7-9 p.m.

If you can’t attend in person but are looking to pick up dinner for the family, there will be a pickup option available from 5-6:30 p.m.

Reserved corporate tables are also available for purchase.
