An Editorial Opinion of The Selma Times-Journal
It’s time for Selma to give its final answer.
We think everyone is glad to see that we are in the home stretch of this year’s municipal elections. Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all Selma run-off elections.
Selma voters will be going to the polls to choose who they will want to represent them for the next four years. The pool of 35 different candidates on the ballot last time has been whittled down to just 10.
In some precincts, you may only have one race to vote for in the office of Mayor. Three other districts will have a council ward race to decide. Two other wards also will be voting on the final addition to the Selma City Schools Board of Education.
We thank those candidates who took the time to let the folks in Selma know about themselves through forums throughout the past few weeks.
This Tuesday, we will not have the unofficial results in Wednesday’s edition of the paper due to our press deadline, but don’t fret! We will have those results on www.selmatimesjournal.com and on our social media feeds.
We hope that you will take the time to read about the candidates, pray about it and then go to the polls on Tuesday to select the candidates who will best represent our community for the next four years.
