Dallas County gets first win of 2025 season

The Dallas County Hornets got in the win column for the first time in the 2025 season on Friday night after they defeated Sumter Central 36-6 in Plantersville.

“We played lights out in our first win,” said head coach Darryl Watts. “It was a big-time performance all around. Our first year quarterback Russell Lindsey led the charge.”

Lindsey led the charge, completing seven of 12 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown with one interception.

The Hornets rushed for 208 yards on the night. Kentrell Hamilton led the stout Hornet rushing attack with three rushing touchdowns. He finished with 138 yards on 11 carries including a long of 44 yards.

Jaylin Crusoe had 22 yards rushing with a touchdown and 21 yards receiving. Keithy Frye finished with six catches for 73 yards including a touchdown.

Amari England also scored for the Hornets as he finished with 36 yards on three carries.

“The run game was clicking all night,” Watts said. “Sebastian Laister and Brytavian Roberson contributed to the run game as well. And the defense held strong led by Brytavian Roberson and Devin Woods.”

Roberson finished with nine solo tackles followed by Woods with six tackles and Christopher Rothchild with five tackles. Woods had three tackles for loss including two sacks while Ar’Jai Jones added two sacks. Rothchild, Crusoe and Hamilton all had a tackle for loss each.

Frye also had an interception and a 45-yard punt return while England had 12 passes defended.
