- The Genealogy Class offered by the Selma Dallas County Historic Preservation Society will be Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Minnie Sue’s Cottage, 622 McLeod Ave.
- ArtsRevive Gallery 905 is the site of the kick off for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On Thursday, Sept. 25th at 5.30 p.m., local artists will join with the community in honoring the area’s Breast Cancer Survivors with a Butterflies in Pink event. There will be light refreshments at the reception. The public is invited, and all survivors of breast cancers are encouraged to attend. The event will also feature a live DJ, free food, vendor booths and blue balloon release. It will feature a Best Themed Dress and Best Themed Station contest.

- Shady Grove Baptist Church in Burnsville will be celebrating its 172nd church anniversary and homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. The speaker of the hour will be Pastor Christopher Wright of Lily Grove Baptist Church. The pastor is Frank Smith. Church members are asked to contribute $100, but all contributions are appreciated.
