Over 1,300 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama’s (UA) summer 2025 commencement at Coleman Coliseum on Aug. 2. The University provides numerous opportunities for service and growth through its educational, social and cultural experiences.

Local students include:

• Braidyn McGough of Selma received a Bachelor of Arts.
• Meocher Rush of Tyler received a Bachelor of Arts.
• Zakia Scott of Valley Grande received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences.
• Benjamin Smith of Selma received a Bachelor of Science.

• Taylor White of Selma received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences.
