ArtsRevive Gallery 905 will have a kickoff event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 5.30 p.m.
Local artists will join with the community to honor the area’s Breast Cancer Survivors with a Butterflies in Pink event. Event Chair, Susan Youngblood ran the idea by fellow artists Susan Hewitt and Bradford Brackin. They bought in to the idea and
Gallery manager Sarah Wagonner and Executive Director Becky Youngblood were all in. The purpose of the event is multipurpose. To inform the community and raise the awareness of the prevalence of breast cancer; to pay homage to survivors, who go through so much; and to raise funds for research and development for breast cancer through the American Cancer Society.
Artists have donated art or services, the proceeds of the sales which go to the ACS, breast cancer R&D. There will be a special Art Exhibit honoring survivors of breast cancer. Pieces can be purchased in honor of survivors and sent to the survivors.
There will be light refreshments at the reception. The public is invited, and all survivors of breast cancers are encouraged to attend. We have a list of 38 and growing.
If you are, or know a survivor of breast cancer in Dallas County, please send their name and contact information to Susan Youngblood at susanwmk@gmail.com.
