Juvenile dies in Selma shooting on Sunday

The Selma Police Department is investigating a shooting on Sunday night that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old juvenile.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said in a statement Monday that at approximately 8 p.m., the Selma Police Department received a call in reference to shots being fired in the 200 block of Race Street.
“While en route, officers were advised that the victim a 15-year juvenile was transported by POV to the Vaughn ER,” Fulford said. “The victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the ER Doctor.”
The Selma Police Department is asking anyone with any information that will help with the investigation to contact 334-876-1259.
“Please keep the victim’s family in your thoughts and prayers,” Fulford said.
The identity of the victim has not been released. No suspects have been arrested at this time. Fulford said the case remains under investigation.
