The Dallas County Alabama Democratic Conference (ADC) is sponsoring a series of candidate forums during the month of July.
According to a press release, these forums will provide the Selma community with the opportunity to hear directly from local candidates seeking elected office and to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of the city and its schools.
Here are the planned forums:
- July 10: Mayoral Candidate Forum
- July 17: City Council President and School Board President Candidate Forum
- July 24: Selma City Council Candidate Forum

Each forum is scheduled to take place at Ellwood Community Church’s Family Life Center. The doors open at 5 p.m. with the forum beginning at 5:30 p.m.
“We are committed to fostering civic engagement and ensuring that voters are informed before heading to the polls,” said Gary Crum, County Chairman, in a press release. “These forums are an essential platform for transparency, accountability, and voter education.”
This initiative is presented by the Dallas County Alabama Democratic Conference and supported by leadership including Joe L. Reed, State Chairman; Donavon McGuire, County Vice Chairman; Jeremiah Alvarado, Youth County Chairman; and Zachenzie Milhouse, County Youth Vice Chairman.
