1 “Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. 6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you:— Exodus 31:1-6 (NIV)

It’s amazing how many people — Christians and non-Christians alike — don’t understand the true source of their blessings, talents, and giftings.

You have likely met people who are proud that they are “self-made.” I am not one of those. Learning to give credit to the maker and author of all things is an important step for everyone to take.

Talent, spiritual wisdom, and God-ordained opportunity comes from Him and Him alone. What we do with it is up to us. God never chooses “the wrong person” to bless with talent. People can, however, misuse those talents and opportunities.

God’s anointing shows up in many ways, including various giftings such as artistry and invention.

The Holy Spirit not only helps us with our personal relationship with God, He also draws out our giftings and talents and points them toward use in the Kingdom of God.

Man too often gives himself credit for the intelligence and knowledge he has. It makes me chuckle when a “new invention” pops up. God is the inventor of all. He provides “revelation” in order to bring His invention into our lives.

God’s giftings reside in many people. Take the time to open your eyes and see and recognize what God is doing in others. It is even possible for you to be part of what ignites those gifts inside of someone. It’s amazing what encouragement can do to inspire others to walk deeper in their calling and giftings.

Please take time this week to ponder on Exodus 31:3.

Spiritual enlightenment comes through the Holy Spirit. It is through him that creativity, passion, and the desire to walk deeper with God is birthed and takes hold.

The Holy Spirit both inspires and equips us to make the most of what God has given us.

While the Holy Spirit is with all true followers of Jesus Christ, at times God has, does, and will provide us with a special empowerment to help us with certain tasks or get us through a crisis.

You likely have seen this in others and perhaps even recognize this in your life from time-to-time.

Through the Holy Spirit, there are many open doors made available for us to walk through.

Embrace the opportunities that God lays before you and trust that He has already equipped you for the task. Remember: all giftings, talents, and anointing spring forth from Him.
