A Tennessee man died in a single-vehicle tractor-trailer crash in which the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire just outside of Jones on Autauga County Road 1 Tuesday morning.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the victim as Korey D. Vaughn, 48, of Sugar Tree, Tennessee. The report indicated that the crash occurred at 10:25 a.m. on June 10.

Near the intersection of Cecil Smedley Road on Autauga County Road 1 about 14 miles northwest of Selma, the 2020 Intnerational tractor-trailer left the roadway and struck a tree. It caught fire. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
