$5000 reward issued for 2023 Selma murder

A $5000 reward has been issued for the arrest of a man who is accused of a May 2023 murder in Selma in which a man was shot dead and burned in his vehicle.
CrimeStoppers issued a bulletin Monday stating that the Selma Police Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Service — Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force are requesting information leading to the arrest Deonte Demon Olds. He is listed as being six feet, one inch tall and weighing about 230 pounds.
Olds is wanted for the shooting death of Joseph Godwin, who was shot in the chest and was found burned in his car on May 11, 2023. Olds was identified as the suspect in the case and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Selma Police Department.
The suspect was believed to be in Atlanta, Georgia, in the fall of 2023. A $5000 reward has been issued for information leading to Olds’ arrest.
