A Selma man was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months in prison for unlawful possession of machine-gun conversion devices, commonly known as “Glock-switches.”
Court documents showed that Mark Anthony Wallace, 26, was sentenced today for possession of two machine-gun conversion devices. The announcement was made via press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Alabama.
On Feb. 2, 2024, Wallace was pulled over by Dallas County Sheriff Deputies for a traffic violation and observed a firearm with a machine-gun conversion device attached with a high-capacity magazine. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was notified and continued the investigation leading to Wallace’s federal indictment.
On Oct. 13, 2024, Wallace was pulled over for speeding by law enforcement and a background check showed an outstanding arrest warrant from the Southern District of Alabama. When taken into custody, Wallace was found to be possession of another machine-gun conversion device attached to a firearm with a high-capacity magazine.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama made the announcement.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew D. Arrington prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
