The Meadowview Christian School Class of 2025 said goodbye not only to their fellow classmates on Sunday night, but also to the school itself.
After 55 years, the school in western Selma will shutter its doors at the end of the school year. The Class of 2025 is the final class that will graduate from the school.

Rev. Michael Perry, the MCS headmaster and the person selected by the seniors to deliver the graduation address as Meadowview Christian School holds its final graduation, said he felt like the seniors maybe wanted him to do some extra work because of the writing assignments he had given them for the final graduation. However, Perry understood that the lessons in his speech would not only be the final lessons of their high school career, but the school itself.
“You are the final class that bear these colors. You are the final class that will take this walk. You are the final class that under the agency of Meadowview Christian School will receive their diplomas,” Perry said. “Meadowview has tried to imbue students with knowledge. Knowledge of God. Knowledge of God’s love through Jesus Christ and to share with them not just the math, science and English, but really and truly a fear of the Lord that would lead them to a life of productive citizenship and ultimately a life spent in eternity with their God.”
Perry encouraged the students to stand on the shoulders of the ones who went before them, walk humbly with God, be generous with others and walk with purpose.
Salutatorians
Salutatorian Catherine Perry thanked the family, friends, teachers and staff who poured into them during their high school careers. Her parents were her biggest supporters in everything she did.
She also left her fellow classmates with the scripture Proverbs 3:5-6.
Fellow salutatorian Alyssa McCloud thanked all of the teachers and coaches who especially helped push her to be her best. She also appreciated the support of her classmates. She also knows the sacrifice her parents have made for her.
“They have always been there for me to support me,” McCloud said. “And my parents have always been there every step of the way, being at every ballgame, every competition, every ceremony, every event that I have had. They stayed up late doing that even though they had to be at work the next morning.”
Valedictorian

Emily Boswell, valedictorian of the Meadowview Class of 2025, said she is thankful for teachers, parents and other family members who have supported them throughout their school careers.
“To our teachers, you saw potential in us, and for that we are eternally grateful,” Boswell said. “To our parents, thank you for the love and support you have shown us. You have been the backbone, cheering us on and celebrating our victories. Your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed.”
After the students in the Meadowview Class of 2025 received their diplomas, they gathered in the jump circle of the gymnasium and tossed their mortarboards into the air to celebrate their achievement. They also took one last time to sing together leaning on each others’ shoulders to soak in the final moment.
