This summer, Kailey McConico from Selma will join students from across the nation to take part in an academic and career-oriented development experience, the Junior National Young Leaders Conference on the campus of Bentley University in Boston, Massachusetts.
This conference is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
McConico, a straight-A student and a seventh grader at Tipton-Durant Middle School, was nominated to attend the forum by her principal. McConico is a part of the cheer team, band, peer helpers and Beta Club. She is a part of the youth choir at church and helps out in her community.
“I am excited for Kailey to meet, work, and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools,” said Dr. Jan Sikorsky, vice president of Education for Envision. “Junior National Young Leaders Conference is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning. Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”
McConico will be flying to Boston and staying six nights and five days. Her mom, Nateisha Caver, her mother, is asking the community to help her cover her daughter’s expenses during the trip. The fundraising deadline is June 6.
For over 35 years, Envision by WorldStrides has empowered students to become their best selves through programs that enable them to discover their passion, explore a career, and positively impact their world. In 2018, Envision became part of the WorldStrides family.
