On Saturday evening, a man was found dead near CVS, located at 520 Highland Ave.

The Selma Police Department said the victim was a black male, identified as 43-year-old Caleb Heard of Selma.

Heard’s body was transported to the lab at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery. At this time, his cause of death is unknown, and it has not been determined if foul play was involved.
