April 26
- Join the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Information for the April Walking Tours start at 10 a.m. at the Selma-Dallas County Public Library, 1103 Selma Avenue.
- The Selma Charity League will have its Casino Night on Saturday, April 26, from 7-10 p.m., at Sturdivant Hall. Tickets are $40 each and include entry to the event and funny money to play games. Tickets can be purchased from any Selma Charity League member or through Eventbrite at https://SCLCasinoNight25.eventbrite.com. - In celebration of Earth Day and Save the Butterfly Day, the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce invites you to the Selma Public Library, Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. for the unveiling of (7) Butterfly Sculptures and Butterfly release. Selma was declared the Butterfly Capital of Alabama in 1982. The official insect of Alabama is the Easter Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.
- The Slow Ride on Celebrate Trails Day will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26. Meet at Union Stree and Furniss Avenue.
- Marion Junction will have several locations participating on two weekends during the Spring 2025 Historic U.S. 80 Sale April 25-26 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The locations include the community center located on County Road 29, My Junction located at 12687 Hwy 80W and a location in the Potters Station area at 4751 Hwy 80.
- Selma-Dallas County Historic Preservation Society will have a Family History Collage Workshop on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 622 McLeod Avenue. Cost is $20. Contact Julie Lyons for more information at jrlyons62@gmail.com.
- The Selma Art Guild will have an opening reception for featured artist Susan Youngblood on Saturday, April 26, from 2-4 p.m.
April 27
- Green Street Missionary Baptist Church is celebrating their 144th church anniversary on April 27, 2025 at 2 p.m at 1120 Green Street in Selma, Al. The Rev. Willie A. Harris is the pastor. The church will also have a dedication of rooms for Deacon John Rawls, Mrs. Clara Mitchell and Ms. Irma Jackson. The Guest minister is Rev. Dr. Otis D. Culliver, Pastor of the Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church of Selma and the president of the Southwest District State Convention.

- Gallery 905 is pleased to announce a new solo exhibition by acclaimed Birmingham artist Dori DeCamillis, opening with a public reception on May 1, at 5:30 p.m..

- Selma-Dallas County Public Library will have a Selma Seed Swap on May 2 from noon-p.m. at the Selma Public Library Main Entrance. For more information, call 334-874-1725.
May 3
- Selma Flea and Farmers Market will have a Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday, May 3, from 5 a.m.-3 p.m. It is located at 606 River Road Selma. Free Table Rentals on May 3.
- Joy Fest will be held Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the East Selma Fish Pond, located at 501 Plant St. Attendees can participate in painting a Community Mural and other events. That includes Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest , Yarn Art Instillation, Popup Farmer’s Market, Physical Fitness, Community Walk, Quilting Project, Painting of Windows of Hope and a Community Table Fish Fry. The event is free.
- The March Quilts community project will host a free fiber arts workshop from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at the River Center for Humanity at 1306 Water Avenue. Email info@themarchquilts.org to register.

- The Alabama Cooperative Extension Service will have a Cottage Food Law Safety Training on Monday, May 5, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Trustmark Bank, 310 Broad Street Selma. - The Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will sponsor the Annual Community Shred Day from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Centre for Commerce, 912 Selma Avenue.

- Auburn University-Montgomery Foundation is looking for professional women in Selma to serve as mentors for the 2024-2025 school year. Mentors should be able to commit at least an hour a week for a year to their student and will complete an application and training process with Aum Foundation.
