This is the scene of a crash that happened near the crosswalk downtown on Broad Street at the intersection of Water Avenue early Friday afternoon. The crash left an elderly pedestrian hurt and the victim was taken to the hospital by the paramedics. On Friday afternoon, an elderly pedestrian was hit by an oncoming vehicle downtown while operating a motorized wheelchair, attempting to cross the crosswalk in downtown Selma.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Broad Street and Water Avenue around 1:30 p.m Friday.
The victim was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
The identity and the condition of the victim were unknown as of press time Friday afternoon.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said the Selma Police Department is investigating the crash. No additional details were available at this time.
