The Alabama High School Athletic Association has removed Southside High School’s varsity baseball program from the Class 3A playoffs, and Dallas County High School will take their place.

According to a press release Thursday, Southside has been fined and placed on probation for playing an ineligible student-athlete in violation of the AHSAA’s Transfer Rule.  Southside self-reported the violation.

“As a result, Southside-Selma High School’s varsity baseball team must forfeit all games won in which the ineligible student participated,” the release states. “The ineligible player is assessed restitution for the contests he participated in while ineligible.”
