Selma City BOE formally welcomes Scott as superintendent of Selma City Schools

On Thursday, The Selma City School Board alongside various members of the Selma City school system came to Selma High’s Media Center to welcome Dr. David Scott as their new superintendent.

In honor of Scott’s official public appearance at the school, the school board hosted a special meet and greet event in the school’s media center geared to not only welcome Scott, but to have a one-on-one conversation with him as well.

SCS Interim Superintendent Darryl Aikerson led the opening of celebratory event welcoming Scott to the City of Selma and The Selma City Schools System as well by saying the opening remarks of, “We know you’re going to do great things and we look forward to the things that you are going to do for the young men and young women in this community.”

Scott told Selma Times Journal that he is grateful to be in Selma and that he sees the opportunity to serve as the Selma City Schools District’s Superintendent as an honor.
