Hornets struggle with Thomasville, Isabella

The Dallas County Hornets faced a challenging week last week, falling to Thomasville twice and to Isabella on Friday.

The Hornets are 1-6 overall. They will play Selma at home on Thursday.

On March 25, the Hornets fell to Thomasville 13-0. Crystan McCune belted a triple, but was unable to get home. Joshua Davis and Devin Sharpe had hits while Kelvin Furlow and Patrick Rudolph drew walks.

Devin Woods took the loss despite seven strikeouts. Sharpe also had two strikeouts in one inning.

Thomas Ville also won on March 27 20-0. While no one got a hit, Sharpe, Woods and Tucker Friday reached on errors while Woods drew a walk.

On March 28, the Hornets got on the scoreboard, but they fell to Isabella 16-1. Woods had a double and scored Dallas County’s only run. Sharpe also had a hit. Kade Crow also drew a walk. Woods and Sharpe also had stolen bases.

McCune took the loss. Sharpe had three strikeouts in three innings of relief.
