Two leaders receive honor at annual DST luncheon

On March 21, two extraordinary women in Selma community received honorary recognition through The Selma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s annual leadership luncheon catered to two pivotal leaders of the past.
Ms. Margaret Moore and Ms. Amelia Boynton Robinson, were both women throughout the organization that were looked upon as chartering and honorary members who were considered trailblazers, icons, heroines of the past that has paved the way for contemporary women of the present who embrace and implement the same principles, according to the Selma Alumnae Chapter of DST.
The two 2025 awardees of the distinctive honor were Dr. CeCe Grayson, who was the recipient of the WALC award, that stands for women of activism, leadership and courage and Ms. Kimberly Smitherman, was the other recipient who received the leadership II Award, which stands for perpetuating empowerment ignited by mentors.
