Before spring break, Meadowview Christian School released a statement to families regarding the current state of the school saying that it may not be viable for the school to remain open.
The letter given out discussed the declining student population, which has led to a year by year consistent decrease in financial resources. The letter also addresses the ultimate reason for its significance, explaining if they are keeping the school closed or if it will reopen.
The school said fundraising over the years has proved to be challenging, to say the least but said their administrators recently distributed a letter of intent to gauge how many students might be returning for the 2025-2026 school year.
“The response was modest at best,” said MCS. “The numbers for Tiny Trojans looked promising. However, it is not a stand-alone program without the infrastructure, which is the building, the power and water that MCS provides.”
The school said looking at those numbers, the board has concluded that opening in the fall would not be financially or academically viable and that they are still working out the details of what the end of the school year will consist of.
MCS said as those details are being worked out, they will continue to keep families informed.
STJ reached out to MCS for a statement, and there was no follow up regarding the status of the school.
