This Friday afternoon, Morgan Academy will retire Caden Tellier’s baseball jersey prior to the 5 p.m. game with Monroe Academy on Friday afternoon.
Tellier passed away due to a football injury during the Senators’ first game in August. He has received numerous honors including being the namesake of the leadership award for WSFA TV last month.
“Friday, March 28 at 4:45 p.m., there will be a special ceremony on the baseball field to retire Caden Tellier’s baseball jersey before the varsity game vs. Monroe Academy,” Morgan Academy posted on social media. “Please come and support the Tellier family.”
Tellier, 16, wore the No. 17 jersey for Morgan Academy in both baseball and football. The rising junior was a top player for the Senators in both baseball and football. He played in the infield, specifically at third base toward the end of the 2024 season.
However, he was known for much more than just football.
“Caden was not defined by number. He was not defined by a jersey. He was not defined by math class,” said Morgan Academy headmaster Dr. Bryan Oliver during a prayer service in the fall. “Caden was defined by his love for the Lord and his ability to spread that like wildfire.”
