Billy Clyde Gregg died peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Billy was born on December 10, 1933 to the late Wesley Clyde and Frances Gregg. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Earline Gay Gregg; son, Gary Gregg; and brother, Tommy Gregg.
He is survived by his significant other, caregiver, and loyal friend, Barbara Nichols; granddaughter, Michelle (Curtis) Mott; grandson, Shane (Paige) Gregg; great grandchildren,Brett, Bryant, Noah, Owen, Colton, Kimber, Emersyn, Levi, & Ellie Gregg; nephews, Johnny Gregg, Wes Gregg, Russell (Penny) Gregg; great nephews, Ethan and Benton Gregg; great nieces, Amy (Heath) Chambers and Harley (Zac) Brown; sister-in-law, Dee Dee Gregg; and his Church Family at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Billy served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, which included a tour in Germany. After his service, he came home and answered an ad in the paper for a parts manager at Reliable Oldsmobile Cadillac Company in Selma, AL. Billy served in many positions for the next 40 years, including Parts Manager, Service Director, Body Shop Manager, and eventually Part-Owner.
He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Maplesville, AL for 60 years. He was also a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending Church, traveling to new places, sitting in the front yard at his home in Stanton, and on the front porch at his farm in Marion Junction.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 12-1 p.m. with service beginning at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton, AL with the Rev. Danny Rasberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
