The Dallas County Hornets fell to Isabella 23-5 in regular season action on Thursday.
The Hornets (1-3) had just five hits in the loss. Patrick Rudolph had a good performance at the plate going 2-for-2 with two runs scored, one RBI and one walk. He also had a double.
Kyrian Hayes added a double with an RBI. Joshua Davis and Devin Woods had the other singles. They both drove in runs for Dallas County. Devin Sharpe also reached base all three times on walks and scored a run.
Sharpe took the loss inspire of getting five strikeouts in three innings. He allowed just three earned runs on seven hits with six walks.
Crystal McCune also had two strikeouts in one and one-third innings, but allowed 12 runs on five hits with eight walks. Kelvin Furlow only allowed one earned run on four hits with no walks with a strikeout while getting two outs for the Hornets.
Isabella had big innings in the second, fourth and fifth innings where they scored six, five and nine runs respectively.
The Hornets tried to mount a rally in the fifth inning scoring four runs, but it was not enough to prevent the mercy rule ending the game after five innings.
The Hornets will play Thomasville on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
