Travelers needing to drive into Selma are experiencing road closures due to the Bridge Crossing Jubilee events.

Broad Street is closed from Water Avenue to Highland Avenue. Drivers can use the Alabama 41 bypass to get around the city.

Those that are coming into downtown, traffic is being diverted onto Water Avenue and onto either Lauderdale Street or Church Street. Drivers then can take JL Chestnut to Boynton Street, which becomes Summerfield Road and head toward Highland Avenue.

Coming from Citizens Parkway, drivers should head west on Highland Avenue toward Summerfield Road and head south on Summerfield toward JL Chestnut. Drivers can either turn on Church Street or Lauderdale Street and head toward Water Avenue to cross over the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

However, the other side of Water Avenue is closed for the Jubilee Street Festival.
