The Morgan Academy softball team stayed unbeaten last week after racking up wins over Wilcox Academy 6-0 on Feb. 25 and 6-0 on Thursday, a doubleheader sweet of Snook Christian 5-1 and 3-2 on Thursday and a doubleheader sweep of Russell Christian 11-6 and 14-0 Friday.

The Lady Senators improved to 11-0.

Morgan 14, Wilcox 10

Addison Bond had a triple, a double and a single to lead the Lady Senators offensively. Cassidy Peal, Lydia Smitherman and Kenzie Oates had two hits each. Oates had three RBIs.

Bond got the win allowing just one unearned run on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

Morgan 6, Wilcox 0

Addison Bond and Anna Logan Lee each had a pair of hits to lead the Lady Senators. Lee had two doubles while Bond had a triple and double. Kenzie Oates doubled while Kaylee Cornell also had a hit.

E.G. Mims earned the four-inning shutout with six strikeouts.

Morgan 5, Snook 1

Kenzie Oates, Addison Bond, Anna Logan Lee, Lydia Smitherman, Kathryn Lyon, Lila Cornell and Cassidy Peal all had hits for the Lady Senators.

Smitherman’s hit was a triple while Lee and Bond each doubled.

Miles Avery Bond earned the win in four and one-third innings, allowing one run on four hits with eight strikeouts.

Morgan 3, Snook 2

The Lady Senators scored two runs in the final inning to get the walk-off win. Addie singled to score Lydia Smitherman to tie the game. Miles Avery Bond then drove in Hadley Verhoff for the winning run.

Avery Stone, Smitherman, Anna Logan Lee and Cassidy Peal had the other hits in the win.

E.G. Mims got the win with six strikeouts in six innings of work with one unearned run on one hit and one walk.

Morgan 11, Russell 4

Anna Logan Lee, Kenzie Oates and Addison Bond all had two hits each to lead Morgan. Lee, Oates, Brynlee Chappelle and Cassidy Peale had doubles in the game. Miles Avery Bond had three RBIs while Peal, Smitherman and Oates all had two RBIs.

Addison Bond started the game allowing six runs on three hits and a walk. Only three runs were earned. Miles Avery Bond finished the game with four strikeouts in four innings of work allowing no runs on one hit and one walk.

Morgan 14, Russell 0

E.G. Mims pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts to get the win in three innings.

Anna Logan Lee and Lila Cornell led the attack with two hits each. Hadley Verhoff and Kenzie Oates, who had three RBIs, each doubled.

Cassidy Peal, Miles Avery Bond and Brynlee Chappelle had the other hits.
