Selma-Dallas County Children’s Policy Alliance Launch set for Sunday

The Selma-Dallas County Children’s Policy Alliance (SDCCPA) is proud to announce its official launch on Sunday March 2.

This launch ushers in a new era of community-driven, data-informed advocacy for the well-being of children and families in Selma and Dallas County.

The mission of the SDCCPA is to unite and mobilize stakeholders to enhance the well-being of children and families in Selma and Dallas County. Through data analysis, strategic planning, collaborative action and community advocacy, SDCCPA seeks to improve outcomes for youth and create sustainable solutions to systemic challenges.

The official kickoff will be on Sunday, March 2, with Let’s Be Clear: No Data, No Change: a virtual launch event and film screening live streamed on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to introduce SDCCPA’s goals and upcoming initiatives. Community members and leaders are encouraged to join the conversation.

SDCCPA also plans to roll out several programs and partnerships in the coming months, focusing on education, criminal justice, public safety, mental health, and family wellness. SDCCPA will also convene The Children’s Policy Council and several breakout Advisory Teams to initiate needs assessments, data analysis, asset mapping, resource identification and strategic planning, culminating in the production of an Annual State of the Children Report which will identify goals and strategies for collective action across 9 facet areas.
