Selma student-athletes stand out at Troy Junior Day

Earlier this month, a group of talented athletes from Selma and the surrounding areas made their mark at Troy University’s Junior Day. The event, which is a key step for high school athletes looking to take their game to the next level.

Among the standout players was Kristan Moore, a 6-2, 205-pound outside linebacker from Selma High, who displayed impressive true measurements that caught the attention of Troy’s coaching staff. Known for his versatility and high upside, Moore impressed Troy with his ability to play multiple positions on defense. His athleticism and football IQ make him a prime candidate for success, and Troy University took note of his potential to impact the game in several ways.

Brytavian Roberson, a 5-11, 250-pound two-way player from Dallas County, also participated. His ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. With his well-rounded skill set, Roberson is a valuable asset to any program, and Troy University has already recognized his potential. With continued development, he has the opportunity to emerge as a future standout.

Another athlete drawing attention was Ar’mari Towns, a 6-6, 220-pound a tight end/receiver from Southside High who spent his previous seasons at Hoover. Towns showed up to Junior Day with all the tools and tangibles needed to succeed at the collegiate level. His combination of size, speed, and hands make him a dual-threat on the field, and Troy coaches are eager to add Towns to their roster. He’s a player to watch, as he continues to grow and refine his skills heading into his senior season.

Kentrell Hamilton, 6-foot, 210-pound running back/outside linebacker from Dallas County, made waves as well. The rising star, who led the country in touchdowns with 30 and accumulated over 1,200 rushing yards, is new to the recruiting scene but has already made a major impact. As a first-year running back, Hamilton’s performance was nothing short of impressive. His balance, vision, and explosiveness set him apart from the competition, and his stock is only going to rise as more college programs take notice of his outstanding Junior year.

These young athletes from Selma and the surrounding areas all have the opportunity to play at the next level, and Junior Day at Troy University was just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for each of them.
