Selma natives shine bright at UWA

On Monday, The University of West Alabama announced more than 400 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List for the Fall 2024 academic semester and on that list, there was one outstanding student shining bright from Selma.

Riyan Sewell of Selma is majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications at UWA and to make the President’s list, Sewell had exceptionally high grades for the semester, with the grade-point averages of 3.80 or higher, completing at least twelve semester credit hours with no grade lower than a “C “, according to the UWA’s online statement.

As for the university’s Dean List, three Selma natives were recognized, Anna Hewitt who also majors in Integrated Marketing Communications, Keshona Hunter, who majors in business Administration and Jared Bradley, who majors in Technology.

All three scholars listed are undergraduate students at UWA, whose grade-point averages are between 3.25 and 3.79, completing at least twelve semester credit hours with no grade lower than a “C.” according to the UWA’s online statement.
