Selma man charged with murder at local business

The Selma Police Department has arrested a man who has been accused of killing a man at a local business early Sunday morning.
Lt. Ray Blanks of the Selma Police Department said that at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, the Selma Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested DShontreil Tarver, 34, who was identified as a Black male, and charged him with murder. Tarver will be held in the Perry Detention Center under No Bond pending a hearing.
The arrest stems from a shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Race Street at local entertainment business on Sunday, Feb. 16, around 1:30 a.m. The victim in this incident was identified as Terry Wayne Harris, 45.
“The victim was pronounced deceased on scene from an apparent gunshot wound,” Blanks said.
The incident remains under investigation by the Selma Police Department.
