The Morgan Academy JV softball team defeated Hooper JV and Fort Dale JV on Monday in a tournament at Hooper.

The pitchers Miles Avery Bond and Avery Stone faced 31 batters and only gave up 3 hits in both games.

Morgan JV 10, Hooper Academy JV 0

McKenzie Britt led the way with two hits while Kenzie Oates, Anna Logan Lee, Miles Avery Bond, Cassidy Peal, Avery Stone, Brinley Chappelle, Bella Roberts, Georgia Sams and Maddie Kaldor all had one hit. Peal’s hit was a double, and she drove in two runs. Oates, Bond and Sams all had an RBI.

Bond earned a four-inning shutout, striking out seven with just one hit.

Morgan JV 7, Fort Dale 3

Anna Logan Lee paced the Lady Senators in the win, going 2-for-2 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Her bases-clearing double in the fourth inning broke a 2-2 tie. She later scored on a passed ball.

Miles Avery Bond also went 2-for-3 and scored the final run for Morgan on Peal’s single. Brinley Chappelle also singled. Peal also drove in a run. Kenzie Oates also scored twice after reaching on a pair of walks.

Avery Stone pitched a complete game, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Both teams committed four errors each in the game.
