The former Fourth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Michael Jackson is still engaging with the community.
This time, he’s not actively serving and fighting for justice for the members of the Selma and Dallas community, but he is still a well-recognized attorney by many within the community that does not mind supporting others in their current endeavors.
Jackson was invited to the Oath of Office ceremony of the new Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, James Christopher McCool.
“The ceremony was held almost at the end of the month on Friday, Jan 24, and I enjoyed myself as one of the few attorneys across the state that was invited. It was quite an honor,” Jackson said.
Jackson also said that McCool introduced Jackson many years prior at a District Attorney Conference when he was named District Attorney of the Year for the whole state, which lead him to become the first and only African-American District Attorney.
“I always enjoy going to events honoring people who serve the public and I think this is a good feather ‘in the cap’ for our city,” Jackson said.
