On Friday, Jan. 31, the life of Marcus Martin was tragically taken by gunfire in the parking lot of the Selma Walmart.

Since his unforeseen passing, community members have shared their memories, thoughts and their feelings of sympathy to the Martin family and everyone who knew Martin as a close friend, family member or just knew him personally out in the community.

According to online posts and just commentary throughout the community, Martin will be deeply missed and will be always remembered as a “God’s Chosen One” by his sister and family members.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 8. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, which is located at 1548 F.D. Reese St., starting at 11 a.m. in Selma and his memorial service will be directed by Aubrey Larkin Lewis Brother Funeral Home.
