Fairfield takes down Selma

Selma had a chance to come back and tie the game in the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t stop Fairfield as they pulled away down the stretch to win 31-16.
The Saints (3-3) will travel to Montevallo for a key region game next week.
Fairfield struck first with a touchdown, but the extra point was no good.
Selma got on the board with Samarion Woods’ 35-yard touchdown pass to Jarvarius Marks. Robert Lytle got the 2-point conversion to make it 8-6 with 5:21 left in the first quarter.
Fairfield retook the lead on a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to lead 18-8 at halftime.
The Tigers scored the only points of the third quarter to take a 24-8 lead heading to the final frame.
Tristen Wall kept the Saints in the game as he completed a 7-yard pass for a touchdown to Nicholas Thomas. Woods completed the 2-point pass to Lytle to cut the lead to 24-16 with 9:15 to play.
Fairfield put the game away with a touchdown with 4:32 left in the game.
