Selma High School will host a Dual Enrollment Parent Informational Meeting on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Selma High School.
The Dual Enrollment Program is a program that Selma High has will WCCS that allows students to take classes at the college and graduate with an associate’s degree. Director of Career & Technical Education at Selma City Schools Dr. William Powell said that parents need to consider letting their children participate in the dual enrollment program this upcoming year.
“Dual enrollment is an important opportunity for Selma High School and Saints Virtual Academy High School scholars. It allows our scholars to earn college credit from Wallace Community College Selma while still in high school, which is a considerable cost saving,” Powell said. “Moreover, students gain exposure to college-level coursework in High School, which gives them a taste of college life and a college-going mindset. I encourage parents to attend this and future information meetings about dual enrollment to learn more about this excellent program and how it can benefit their children. Dual enrollment can be a great way for scholars to prepare for college and get a head start on their college education.”
