The Dallas County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency will be conducting its regularly scheduled monthly test of emergency outdoor warning sirens on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
According to Dallas County EMA Director Toya Crusoe, the testing of the sirens is necessary to ensure that all systems are functioning properly.
The sirens are designed to be audible to people that are outdoors. A weather radio should be used inside the home to alert residents of severe weather.
Crusoe said residents should not take action in conjunction with the testing. All sirens have been repaired and should sound during this test.
The test will continue the first Tuesday of every month between 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., unless severe weather threatens the area. If anyone does not hear their respected siren, they should report to the Dallas County DHS/EMA at (334) 874-2515. If the threat of severe weather exist on the test date, then the test will occur the following Wednesday.
