District Attorneys across the nation walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge last weekend.

Fourth Judicial District Attorney Robert L. Turner and former Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson were among those participated in the walk across the historic bridge.

“Over this past weekend prosecutors from across the country descended upon Selma along with a contingent of formerly incarcerated individuals who have successfully re-entered society to discuss fairness in prosecution, especially for teen offenders,” Turner said. “The event sparked intense, meaningful dialogue and left both groups feeling optimistic that justice and rehabilitation are both possible when the system works as it should”

Jackson said the walk across the bridge went well.

“It was a great event,” Jackson said. “It is always good when tourists can walk across the bridge and see Selma. Things are tough right now, but there’s light at the end of this journey.”

The Fourth Judicial District encompasses the Counties of Dallas, Bibb, Wilcox, Perry and Hale.
