Notes from Selma City Council’s work session on March 24

The Selma City Council has a scheduled work session on Thursday night at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

At press time, the only two Business Items on the agenda are Structure on Broad Street from Councilwoman Jannie Thomas and Committee Reports presented by City Council President Billy Young.

The Mayor’s Report by Selma Mayor James Perkins and City Attorney Major Madison’s report are both on the agenda.

At the last city council work session, two citizen’s requests  from the March 9 meeting were eventually approved at the next city council meeting: George Evans’ Special Needs Day for April 27 at the Selma Amphitheatre and George P. Evans Building and Kimesha Alvardo for Palm Sunday at Ronnie Sharpe Park on April 2, the week before Easter Sunday.

The city council meeting will be held on March 28 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
