The Lady Trojans got their offense going after struggling the last time they played at home against Jackson. Sparta jumped out to an early 5-0 lead but instead of the lead growing and growing the Lady Trojans fought back. In the second inning, Meadowview responded with five runs of their own to tie the game up again. Eme Fancher, Baleigh Williams, Addeyson Ross and Taya Baugh all scored in the inning. The Lady Warriors were able to pull away again in the third inning thanks to multiple errors by the Lady Trojans. Meadowview had 10 errors in the game that would turn out to be costly in the end. The pitching for the Lady Trojans had much improved than the last home game according to Head Coach Lee Jones. Kenlynn Buchanan started in the circle and after giving up the first five runs settled into the game nicely. Baugh came in in relief and after struggling in the game against Jackson, came in and did a much better job finding the strike zone. Coach Jones said that he was proud of the way his team played and feels if they can fix the errors then they can win more games.

“We just got to do the little things,” Jones said. “We are good enough to win the games but we beat ourselves. We had 10 uncalled-for errors. We went back and played Jackson Monday night and it was tied 5-5, 8-8, 12-12 and then they beat us by three runs in the last inning. We are getting better. We just got to learn and have the will to win. I think we have been beaten so much we lost that. Winning breeds winning. That’s what we got to do.”

The Meadowview fans went home on a high note on Thursday when the JV squad beat Sparta 18-0. Eme Fancher was the pitcher in that game and threw a no hitter in route to the win. The Lady Trojans JV team is now 4-1 on the season.
