High-profile officials attended the Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee

The Selma Bridge Crossing had strong representation from high-profile officials in the city and county attend the final day on Sunday.

The city of Selma was well-represented: Selma City Council President Billy Young, Selma City council members Jannie Thomas, Christie Thomas, Atkin Jemison, Lesia James, Clay Carmichael, Selma Housing Authority CEO Kennard Randolph and Selma City Schools Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd.

Dallas County had a strong showing: Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn, Dallas County Commissioners Vivian Rogers, Connell Towns, Curtis Williams and Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins Pettaway Jr. and Dallas County Schools Superintendent Anthony Sampson.

The City of Orrville was represented by Mayor Louvenia Lumpkin and her husband, Councilman William Lumpkin.

Other high-profile officials who attended the Jubilee were:  former State Senator Malika Sanders-Fortier, former Senator Doug Jones and South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, SCLC President Charles Steele, Political Activist Rev. Al Sharpton and Selma historian Dr. Bernard Lafayette Jr.
