Zeta Delta Chapter President Melanie Wright, a retired educator, said she appreciated the gifts on February 10.

Alabama District 5 State School Board Member and Zeta Delta Member Dr. Tonya Chestnut, said teachers should always be appreciated.

“Teachers supporting teachers is a positive expression of love, encouragement, and support, especially during this period of post–tornado devastation,” Chestnut said. “Teacher morale leads to student improvement and encouragement. We support our teachers as they meet the needs of our students.”

Selma and Dallas County educators will always remember February 10, 2023, as a day when educators received not only, tangible sweets, but also gratitude, commendation, and encouragement as they strive to ‘make a difference’ in the lives of the boys and girls they teach each day, and exert such a positive impact upon our community.”
