The AISA and Morgan Academy have proved that writing remains important in society.

Last week, three Morgan Academy students won AISA Creative Writing Awards.

Parker Hewston (Grades six through eight) and Gavin Hewston (Grades nine through 10) both won first place. John Beekman Youngblood earned second place in Grades 11 through 12.

Credit goes to Morgan Academy Director of Operation Karim Oaks and English Teacher, Mrs. Cook for encouraging the kids to showcase their writing skills. Oaks said that Cook predicted some of the Morgan Academy students would win.

“She said we had some winners in this group for sure,” Oaks said. “We never had so many winners at one time. They were all great stories.”

We applaud the AISA and Morgan Academy for showing us that writing remains an art form, whether its newspaper writing, creative writing or writing a research paper. Writing is important in our society.
