Jeffrey Walker, a former coach at Ellwood Christian School, is returning from a short stint at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa where he served as an assistant coach. Northridge won the 2020-2021 Girls Indoor State Championship during his tenure there.

“Coach Walker brings a winning attitude to the track program,” Selma Athletic Director Willie Morgan said. “Which starts with being disciplined, having great character, having a grinding mentality, working hard mentality, and knowing how to get the best out of his athletes on and off the track. We are very excited to have him.”

Walker has coached for over 15 years in some capacity. Walker grew up in Selma where he ran track and now that he has the opportunity to come back to Selma, he is excited to give back to the community that gave him his start.

“It’s just a great opportunity for me,” Walker said. “I’m very excited. I started my track career in Selma under coach Sparks, coach Davis, and coach Harris. It’s an honor just to be back to where my roots started and to be able to give back to the community and to help the young people where they are successful. It’s one of those things where I can’t wait to get started. I’ve been wanting this opportunity for years. It’s awesome.”
